Hangout
The hangout
Once a month, on a video call, for an hour. Recorded. Free. For adults, 18 and over.
We open with one question: who was the first chiropractor you ever watched work, and how did you end up in that room? Everyone answers, in one breath. If you haven't yet: where are you looking?
Two people tell their way in, live, from the page they wrote. Then we spend twenty minutes doing one small thing together, with the thing on screen: looking up what's published about your own school (the four-word search: [BEN: the four words (data/four-words.md)]), writing the email that gets you into a chiropractor's office, drafting the first minute of a campus talk, or writing why a club should exist. We close by naming one action for everyone and one person who'll tell us next month how it went.
Nothing is scored. Nobody is ranked. “I didn't” is a complete answer.
Next hangout
The first date is coming. [BEN: day, date, time, time zone] · [BEN: the working block this month]
Register: [BEN: registration link (it goes in data/hangouts.csv)]
Who was there
The first hangout hasn't happened yet. We'll print the real number after it has. [BEN: after the first call, the attendance line: how many people were on the call, counted from the platform attendee list once it ends, host included]
Bring one person
The movement grows one invitation at a time. If you're coming, bring one person who hasn't been. The line to send them:
There's a ChiroMovement hangout on [BEN: date] at [BEN: time, time zone]. One hour on video, one question, two people telling how they found their way in, then we do one small thing together. I'm going. Come with me: [BEN: registration link]
When they join, they'll be asked who sent them. That's the only record we keep of it.
Tell a story
Two people tell their way in every month, from pages sent in. If you'd tell yours, write it down (who first said the word, where you were, what changed your mind, the first room you watched the work in), send it to [BEN: where to send a story], and say it may be read aloud. Nobody is read aloud without saying yes.
What we record and where it goes
The call is recorded. The recording goes to [BEN: where: the ChiroTrack YouTube channel, unlisted or public], with the two story tellers' OK. Registration asks for no more than the join form does: no health information, no date of birth, no phone number. The platform is [BEN: platform; name it on privacy.html too].
